# Social media post previewer

Type a post once and see it as a card for each of the 10 social networks Postify publishes to: your line breaks, the characters it uses against each network's limit, the part that runs over, and where a network's feed folds it behind "see more". It is drawn in your browser, with no sign-up.

## Limits per card

- Instagram: 2,200 characters
- TikTok: 2,200 characters

Only networks Postify publishes to today get a card. X, Threads, and Reddit coming soon.

## How it works

Each card measures your post the way Postify's composer does: every UTF-16 code unit is one character, so many emoji count as 2. A post exactly at a network's limit fits; one character more is over, and that character and everything after it is marked.

The card is a neutral one in Postify's style, not a copy of each network's own layout. Networks change their fonts and layouts, and where a line wraps depends on the screen, so read the card for length, line breaks and the fold rather than for pixel-exact looks.

A fold is drawn only where a network's own page says where it cuts text off. Today that is LinkedIn; the other networks publish no number, so their cards show the whole post.

## Where "see more" cuts a post

- LinkedIn: after 150 characters. LinkedIn's own single image ad specifications say to use up to 150 characters of introductory text, counting spaces, emojis and punctuation, to avoid truncation. Source: [LinkedIn Help: single image ads advertising specifications](https://www.linkedin.com/help/lms/answer/a426534), checked 2026-10-30.

The other networks do not state on their own pages where their feeds cut text off, so their cards show the whole post rather than a guessed fold.

## Questions

### What does the post previewer show?

Your post on a card for each of the 10 social networks Postify publishes to, with its line breaks kept, the characters it uses against that network's limit, and the part past the limit marked. Where a network publishes where its feed cuts text off, the card folds there behind "see more".

### Where does LinkedIn cut a post off with "see more"?

The previewer folds LinkedIn posts after 150 characters. LinkedIn's own single image ad specifications say to use up to 150 characters of introductory text, counting spaces, emojis and punctuation, to avoid truncation. Where the cut really falls depends on the device, so treat the opening 150 characters as the part everyone sees.

### Does the preview look exactly like each network?

No. It is a neutral card in Postify's style that shows which network it is for, your text as it will read, and whether it fits. Each network's own layout and fonts change over time and differ by device, so wrapping can differ slightly from the real feed.

### How are characters counted?

The same way Postify's composer and its character counter count them: every UTF-16 code unit is one character. Letters, spaces and line breaks count as 1, many emoji count as 2. A network's own counter may weigh some characters differently, so treat a post within a few characters of a limit as a close call.

### Do I need an account to preview a post?

No. The previewer is free, needs no sign-up, and draws the cards in your browser; the tool itself does not store or send what you type. You only need a Postify account to schedule or publish the post.
